The movie has a strong narrative, one thing that parallels the timeliness is the loneliness and masculinity of "Zama". As a Spanish superior male, his admiration and desire towards theSpanish noblewoman Luciana Piñares de Luenga was vivid and desperate. When the man showed his docile face towards a woman, you know what he really desires. His "preference" towards white women is also interesting. And judgingby other men, one man can commonly get defensive and irrational. When "Zama" lies in the boat at the end of the film after finished chasing a luxuriousand deludeddream, he realized what lies within this oasis is the true "golden shame" of the colonists and a monster that lives inside of him.
