Was shock to see that Afghan in the 80s was actually open and western, way more than China back then. War and religious ruling set the country backwards at least 50 years, if not more.

The lyrics of the songs in the competition, which I believe are just common folk songs, are mostly about the love between guys and girls. Guys can sing about how much they crave for the love of beautiful girls openly in front of the public, so why would it be such a big deal for two genders to show up on the same stage at the same time, and why would it be such an unforgivable crime for a girl to barely twist her body trying to dance on the stage. 极端的宗教是毒瘤。
