That squeaky sound that has been mentioned many times during the film is clearly a metaphor of the unsettling sound inside their body. Everything reminds you of that sound, that memory, that experience, you'll become nervous as hell. Loneliness is THAT thing.
Three couples of total six main characters are presented in the film. A femal actress who has no means to fight against the movie industrial decides a small department will be her temporary residence. A youth who's curious about many things lends a hand to the helpless newly arrived actress. A second floor middle-age bald folk who refused to pay his share to a new elevator lost his right to use it, only find out that he needs it more that other residence because of a recent stupid mistake. A night shift nurse who usually spents a hour break met a man in wheels, taking him as one of the patients. It's truthful, ridiculous, laughable and yet sorrowful. They look out for each other with all they can even when the people you're taking care of may be total strangers. Unconditional love is what we need but what be don't have. When we don't have it, we get really lonely. Then we try everthing we can to be not alone. With luck, we might be not lonely.
