The author,Nathaniel Hawthorne, took his stand for feminist movement, conveying bitterly sarcastic irony to those hypocritical puritans in the feudal society full of paradox and ridiculousness. We reckon The Scarlet Letter a great masterwork for the most cutting-edge thought in that era——the pursuit of emancipation of humanity. Whereas, deep in my thought, that accomplished the monumental work most is not only putting forward that advanced conception of liberating human natures but also the environmental and situational context. The liberty should not be too limitless, even for the pursuit of one’s own happiness——Important the loyalty and responsibility in marriage! As the celebrated Chinese sociologist, li Yinhe, said that the contemporary marriage system ensuring the quality and steady family support and education for descendants is helping build youth reserves for the society, the nation, and the whole world. I can’t agree more, without the lives of the fresh blood , there is no state, and without the state, there is no security and human rights! As we can see the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in USA surpassed 1.45 million and the toll is nearly 90000. There would be large quantities of costs of liberty, or saying human rights, but for the costs, which one would you like to take? Life? Love?Reputation? ...or...Anything !?
