1. I hate the cliche of human rights talk but my heart aches for all the garment workers filmed and those beyond the reach of this documentary. 2. Revolution of values - happiness is not based on how much you own. As what we really need (house, education, insurance) becomes too expensive to afford, we turn to fast fashion for consolation. "At least I can buy this dress for a party and buy another tomorrow if I want. " It's time to wake up. 3.About clothing: I love fashion but I also glad to see the limits of it and the problems this industry brings. While I have no idea what my best strategy should be to reform my actions as a customer/consumer in this time of consumption capitalism, I'll try to be more aware of the cost of clothing and be critical of my (fed) needs. 4. Potential areas of future sociological studies: children food industry, food and fashion industries in China, consumption capitalist expansion in post-socialist China
BTW, glad I did not spend a penny on this past Black Friday.
