if you don't finish the movie, you won't get the underlying irony of the movie title.
"it's a little secret between you and me that i am gay because it's in the water." haaaa......funny and what is more ridiculous is the whole people in the town all buy this SPENCER-after- drunk "commitment".
and thanks to SLOAN(what a bitch name), it spread among the so-called most innocent and religious and kind-hearted people easily. kids were dragged away when they were playing by the lawn sprayers, the bottled /barreln purified water were running out, and a serial of water test was required etc.etc... and the incidental music in these scenes matches really gorgeously.^-^
i adore this movie cause it was shot at a certain point of how gay people reacted against what the KIND straight people thought or saw about them. That very reaction is no reaction. they still hung out together enjoying the very preciously happy moment with each other which they could't attain from their respective ex-lovers. i didn't mean that only can the true love happen between gay people but some kinds of people, only this way can their true love be displayed. the outsiders call it true-ish coz they have their belief in LOVE that the true love lays between GOD's hands and those hands will never ever lay above dykes.@-@ what a narrow-minded sight!
the movie was set in the late 1990s when the idea of gay/lesbian is not so well accepted even in the most free country across the large Pacific Ocean. and now only is much better in some states.
not to even mention our traditional mainland. @-@ even when the whole United States pass the gay marriage legal law, it will take PRC hundreds of years to follow this trend. That's BECAUSE we are living and will live for a long time in a gayism-thought-to-be-in-the-water country!
