Plot Summary:In 1949, the Nationalist government retreated from Mainland China to Taiwan, bringing along an army of 60,000 people. My father was one of them. They thought they would be returning to the Mainland before long. But it was not for another forty years before cross-strait talks are reopened. Unable to return home, these people are lost in their special way. A silver hairpin belonging to my grandmother allowed me to walk into my father's world, and to discover the deep reminiscence of these old veterans.
民国三十八年，国民政府从大陆撤退台湾，带来了六十万大军，他们以为不久就能反攻大陆回家了。没想到一呆四十年，两岸才开放。于是，这群老兵成为台湾与大陆间最尴尬的一群人！导演的父亲也是老兵，而导演老奶奶的一支银簪子，则让导演走进了父亲的世界……
