Plot Summary:Seven years after her disappearance the remains of Scarlett Dreyfuss are found in woods. Simple Benny Clough was charged with her murder but new evidence acquits him. During pantomime rehearsals Father Brown learns that Scarlett made enemies among the local amateur dramatics group, one of whom is also attacked. Father Brown is charged with finding the culprit so that the pantomime can go ahead successfully.
Set in the 1950s in the fictional village of Kembleford, the series follows Roman Catholic priest Father Brown who has a knack for solving crimes. He is assisted by parish secretary Bridgette McCarthy and is often a source of frustration for the local police.
