Plot Summary:In the early years, a lot of Kinmenese would go to Southeast Asia to search for job opportunities. Yet, such action left them with no choice but to move away from home and put down roots in another country for good, so all they could do was send ghostwritten family letters to their relatives, whose images, as well as the impression of hometown, had gradually faded from their memories. Hence, I regard myself as a messenger and decide to embark on a journey based on the track of the trans-island migration in my family. Through the artistic practice that incorporates on-site video documentation, family letters/photos, collected oral reminiscence, and personal experience of multilingual communications, I aim to tell the story that profoundly portrays the lives of Kinmenese diasporas.
在家族長輩前往東南亞跨島遷移的移民路線裡，印尼與臺灣、島與島之間，血緣成為一種穿越地理空間的連線，一封封被珍藏著的家族信件，則成為這些金門出洋客們思念故鄉的記憶載體。 於是我以信使的身份，帶著這些破舊的家族書信，依照信封上模糊的地址，來到印尼邦加島尋找信中人。透過實地影像拍攝，搭配信件字跡與家族照片，並且加入在地多種語言(中文/台語/英文/印尼語)轉換溝通的經驗，交叉剪輯出這段旅程中的魔幻經歷，讓這件作品不僅是對於家族史的緬懷，更想透過這段旅程展現這些鮮為人知的南洋移民漂流史。
