Plot Summary:Years before director Michael Moore came on the scene, Irish-born journalist Peter Lennon exposed the truth of a repressed, suppressed and censored country, and the hypocrisy of church, politics and state, through a series of 'innocent' interviews of patriotic sportsmen, priests, censors and 'brainwashed' children.
曾經擔任英國衛報記者，同時也是作家的彼特．藍儂，在1967年與法國新浪潮攝影師拉烏爾．庫塔爾合作，透過鏡頭記錄愛爾蘭的政客、教會、藝術家、學生等常民生活文化點滴。這部經典紀錄片體現了1950年代末期「英國自由電影」高呼自由創作的核心精神，在坎城影展與都柏林本地放映後引起截然不同的兩極評價。
